Girls Rock Camp 2025 Shout-outs

At camp we have a “Shout-Out Wall” to share special messages of thanks and appreciation for each other, and so we want to continue the tradition here too! We want to thank those that support us during camp and year round with financial support, donated goods and services, and the partners that make our camp programming so amazing!

Camp Week/Programming Thank-you’s

RAIS (Recording Arts Institute of Saskatoon) donates their time, space, and expertise every year to host our bands in their studio and record their original songs for us (which we upload later to Bandcamp!). This is a truly unique experience for our campers that offers a taste of the professional musician life!
The Broadway Theatre is a fellow non-profit, community-based organization that donates their space each year for our Camper Showcase, as well as occasional board/organizer meetings.
Our week-long camp is hosted by the wonderful Mayfair United Church, where we have rented space for the past few years now.
We rent instruments for camp from Canadian music store Long & McQuade, who provide us a great discount each year.
PAVED Arts, a local non-profit, artist-run centre & gallery, donated rental cameras for our volunteers to take pictures during camp week!
We received food donations for camp week from the Co-Op Food Store, The Griffin Takeaway, and Panago Pizza; and from Darkside Donuts for our volunteer orientation

Aurora Wild - Songwriting Workshop
Kristin Enns-Kavanaugh & The Saskatchewan History & Folklore Society - Zine Making Workshop - the campers each get to take home the handmade zine they made with their friends
Cate Francis & Emma Francis - Printmaking Workshop - screenprinting the camper’s original band logos onto their own t-shirts
Shalyn Nicole & CFCR Community Radio - Radio Workshop: Intro to Recording and Audio Engineering
Emma Zuck - Screenwriting & Storyboard Workshop for the Camp Song music video
Special Guests:
Diane’s Place - Guest lunch vendor - we had the most delicious vegetarian lunch thanks to Diane (it’s safe to say everyone went back for seconds!!)
Living Sky Limousine - The campers got a special surprise on Friday when they found out that they would be getting the full rock star treatment - a limo ride with their band to the RAIS Recording Studio! Living Sky Limousine generously chauffeured our campers (and their musical gear) to and from the studio all day!
Hannah Alex Photography - Hannah hung out with us all day on Friday to take cool band photos for our campers! We can’t wait to see the results - we’ll be sure to share the pics with you!
Christian Leigh from Only Child Studio came in to do some fun hair and makeup for our campers’ band photos!
