We are pleased to announce our Logo Contest Winner is GRS Alum, Kate Brattan! Thank-you to all the youth that submitted designs and to everyone who took the time to vote. Stay tuned for the release of our new merch featuring Kate’s design!
ARTIST STATEMENT:
“When I read your mission for the camp it said that you wanted a logo that envisions a whimsical and powerful space that is Girls Rock Saskatoon. The two hands were a spinoff of my original draft design. The "X" that the hands are holding is a guitar and a drumstick, saying that we use music as well as the roman numeral for 10 (to symbolize the 10 year anniversary). As well as the flowers, I think of nature when I hear whimsical and because of that I added vines. I lastly wanted to show that not all girls are the same. I added tattoos of music notes and instruments as well as hearts. Lastly I added an "easter egg" and included my mushroom logo as a tribute to the Spotted Shrooms on the hands.”
